Very Amazing stunning Song and actress that won an Oscar

By Sweer Lucifera, I NEED to watch this film again stat! It's true, there were shaky vocal parts, but those that were vitually flawles more than made up for them. And Anne Hathaway. who was in the film for no more than 30 of it's minutes of running time, took home the Academy Award for her role, and if you ask me, she could have earned that Oscar in the five minutes she spent perfoming this one song. I will watch it again very soon, perhaps even before the sun rises five hours from now.

Ten years later and I still can't hear this version without ugly crying. This moment was my takeaway from the whole film in the theater - even with Les Mis being a favorite read of mine and having seen many college theater productions, Anne brought this song to life in a way I never saw coming. It's just too raw, too in the cut. Amazing film adaptation and personalization.

All the people commenting that her singing is flawed or imperfect. You realize she not just singing. She is acting. She is performing the song from the perspective of someone who has been utterly destroyed by life. She is near death. And her voice captures this feeling perfectly. If she sang it to sound perfect that would not capture the moment. It is the voice of someone singing in utter despair. She is perfect.
